Si comunica che l'Ambasciata rimarrà chiusa il giorno venerdì 24 maggio 2013 per la festività Vesak Full Moon Poya Day.

Per la suddetta occasione, giovedì 23 maggio 2013 a partire dalle ore 16.00 si terrà una cerimonia religiosa che prevede l'offerta di tè Srilankese (Danselapresso l'Ambasciata. L'evento è aperto al pubblico.

H.E._Asitha_PereraThe Embassy of Sri Lanka in Rome, commemorated the 65th anniversary of Independence at the Rome Buddhist  Viharaya, on Monday 4th of February 2013.

On a request made by Ambassador Asitha Perera the Chief Incumbent of the Rome Buddhist Viharaya, Ven. Molligoda Dheerananda Nayaka Thero,  co-operated fully with the Embassy and most of the staff, to make this historic event a success.

Israel Firmly Committed to Sri Lanka’s Economic Development- President of Israel Tells Prof. Peiris.

Mr. Shimon Peres, President of the State of Israel, congratulating Sri Lanka on her achievement in eradicating terrorism, said that Israel stands firmly committed to supporting the development of the country’s economy in the prevailing environment of peace and stability.

He made these remarks when Prof. G.L. Peiris, Minister of External Affairs, called on him at the President’s Office in Jerusalem on Tuesday.

Sri Lanka marks Independence Day with firm determination & clear commitment to national unity -President

Unity among communities and religious harmony are vital factors for the development of the country. Divisions among us will strengthen various hostile forces seeking to deny us our freedom. When all communities rise in unity, the forces hostile to the country will be weakened and freedom further strengthened, stated President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his Independence Day message.

We celebrate the 65th anniversary of independence with firm determination and clear commitment to national unity, the President added.

The nation has embarked on a path of development which has made freedom really meaningful. This is a very difficult and challenging task, the fulfillment of which would bring both justice and prosperity to the nation, he continued.

The time has now dawned when you and your children need not to think with fear and suspicion about the future, President Rajapaksa further stated.
