Having considered the spread of Covid-19 virus in the country, it is decided to extend the validity period of all types of Visas issued to all foreigners who are currently residing in Sri Lanka for a period of 60 days with effect from 11th May 2021 to 09th July 2021 to allow all the foreigners to regularize their visas accordingly.
Only Visa fees applicable for that period will be charged for the Visas expire within this period and exempted from charging overstay penalty.
Therefore, you are kindly requested to proceed as advised below.
Instructions for the Tourist Visa holders to obtain visa endorsement:
Accordingly, Tourist Visa holders can follow one of the below mentioned methodologies to make payment for the extension of visa and to obtain the visa endorsement.
Tourist visa holders are hereby advise to pay the relevant visa fee and obtain the visa extension via the below mentioned link on or before 09thJuly 2021

If you intend to leave the island during the aforementioned period, your journey will be also facilitated by paying the relevant visa fee at the Airport or,
By visiting the visa office in the Department of Immigration and Emigration at Battaramulla on or before 09th July 2021 and obtain visa endorsement in the passport by making the relevant Visa fees.
Instructions for the Resident Visa holders
Extension of Visa with effect from 11th May, 2021 up to 09th July 2021 is also applicable to all Resident Visa holders. To obtain visa endorsement before that date, contact 0707101050 from 8.30 am to 3.00 pm on working days to make an appointment and visa endorsement shall be obtained by visiting the visa office in the Department of Immigration and Emigration at Battaramulla on or before 09th July, 2021 after making the relevant visa fees.
Further, if you intend to leave the island during the aforementioned period; your journey will be also facilitated by paying the relevant visa fee at the Airport.
